At a recent conference it has come to light that the Air Conditioning Contractors of America as well as twelve other organizations have asked that the body that can hold accreditation for the Building Performance Institute be rescinded by the governing board, which is the American National Standards Institute.

This certification is designed for people wanting to be licensed as a type of home energy auditor like a building analyst or home energy rater, and during the conference this was seen as pretty enormous news. Other prominent organizations who have penned a letter to the Institute include the American Gas Association and National Air Filtration Association.
